Refinery29, a New York-based fashion and style website, has raised $20 million in Series C funding from Stripes Group. The company previously raised around $6 million from Floodgate, Lead Edge Capital, First Round Capital, Lerer Ventures and Hearst Corporation. Sage Therapeutics, a Boston-based developer of therapies to treat central nervous system disorders, has raised $20 million in Series B funding from ARCH Venture Partners and return backer Third Rock Ventures. The company has now raised a total of $57.8 million. CounterTack, a Waltham, Mass.-based endpoint security organization, has raised $12 million in Series B funding from investors like Goldman Sachs and Fairhaven Capital.
EcoFactor Inc., a Redwood City, Calif.-based provider of cloud-based home energy services, has raised $10 million in Series B funding. NRG Energy Inc. (NYSE: NRG) led the round, and was joined by return backers Claremont Creek Ventures, RockPort Capital Partners,and Aster Capital.
Nginx Inc., an open source web server for content-heavy sites, has raised $10 million in Series B funding. New Enterprise Associates led the round, and was joined by return backers e.ventures, Runa Capital and MSD Capital. Nomi, a New York-based marketing platform for offline businesses, has raised $10 million in Series A funding. Accel Partners led the round, and was joined by seed backers First Round Capital, Greycroft Partners and Forerunner Ventures. mParticle, a New York-based mobile data platform, has raised $3 million in seed funding. Bowery Capital led the round, and was joined by Google Ventures, Greylock Partners and individual angels.
StarMobile Inc., an Atlanta-based provider of a cloud-based solution for enterprise mobility, has raised $2.5 million in seed funding. U.S. Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by GRA Venture Fund and Atlanta Technology Angels.
