Check Point provides support for VPN connectivity from Windows (Windows 7, Vista) x64 hosts to Connectra, VPN-1, UTM-1 and Power-1 gateways, as follows: Endpoint Connect A lightweight VPN client that is included as part of VPN-1 NGX R65 HFA40 and R70 and above. Endpoint Connect provides advanced VPN connectivity, including smart location awareness, roaming and advanced auto connect capabilities. Endpoint Connect users log onto the VPN directly from the client and do not need to log in through the SSL VPN portal. Endpoint Connect, included in HFA40, is NOT 64 bit ready (The client package exists on the Security Gateway). Endpoint Connect R73 that supports Windows 64-bit has been released. It works with VPN-1 Security Gateways, versions R65 HFA40 and above, and with Connectra gateways, versions R66 and above. The client is available on the download center – you can download the client installation, , , and a cab file, , to replace the cab file currently on the Security Gateway, forautomatic upgrade support. Note: For users that would like to connect from Windows 7 64-bit to an Edge device, the . The new Edge firmware supports Endpoint Connect VPN clients, hence supports connections from Windows 64-bit. SNX is an on-demand agent that is dynamically downloaded from a portal on Check Point Security Gateways. SNX provides a layer 3 SSLVPN tunnel that can secure any IP based client-server connectivity. This agent is backward compatible with Check Point Security Gateways running versions NGX R60 and above.
